My name is Andrew. For much of my life, I have struggled with drug addiction. I was seeking a happiness that I couldn’t find. It wasn’t until I surrendered my life to Jesus that I was able to find that happiness.

I’ve been sober for over four years now.

When I first got released from prison, I moved into a homeless shelter because I had nowhere else to go. Months later my caseworker told me about the Elkhart County Jail Ministry Reentry Housing Program. I filled out the application and was approved. The program offers affordable housing for people like me who are just getting back into society.

Thank you, Jail Ministry, for helping me in the past year. Since I’ve been in the program, I’ve been able to improve my FICO score. By June of this coming year I will have my down payment for a house of my own. The reentry program also has a life coach who helps me stay focused on making the next right choice.

Is my life all peaches ‘n cream now? No, but I can honestly say life is good. Thank you, Jail Ministry.
