After doing 21 years for a drug conviction, I was released at the age of 56 with just a few family members to help me with the transition. My cousins graciously allowed me to live with them even though my being there would change the way they had been living for two decades. Unfortunately, my parole officer told me I was not allowed to stay there anymore.
I went to the Faith Mission for a while, then I had an interview with the Jail Ministry Housing Program. I was quickly accepted and I moved into one of their homes two weeks later. God has truly blessed me, because things could have turned out really bad for me. The Jail Ministry has given me the tools needed to make a successful reentry into society.
Changes needed to be made in my life, and while I was incarcerated I underwent many changes. The main change is that GOD is my sustainer, protector, provider, and lover. All my needs will be provided through Him, or I don’t need it! Glad to be able to have an opportunity to start anew. Micah
