About Us

Jesus spent much of His time on earth with outcasts, extending grace, love and mercy to people for whom society had lost all hope.

With the help of over 500 volunteers, 100 churches and 23 Assistant Chaplains, the mission of the Elkhart County Jail Ministry is to spend time with the people that Jesus spent time with; sharing the freedom found in Christ with people in chains.

The Gospel is shared in the context of relationships. While the Elkhart County Jail Ministry offers over 100 different programs, Bible studies and church services every month for inmates, these programs offer the volunteers and Assistant Chaplains a context in which to build a relationship. Our inmates need to see the love of Christ and not just hear about it.

Volunteer opportunities are numerous. Come, meet God again in the Elkhart County Jail.

The Jail Ministry of Elkhart County is a 501 c3 non-profit organization that is funded solely through the generous donations of local churches, individuals and businesses. All donations to the Jail Ministry of Elkhart County are tax deductible
